The photo doesn’t take itself
- Make sure you are fully in the picture, from head to feet for a standing pose.
- Stand where you placed the silhouette, at about its size. Too close or too far away counts against the match.
- Follow the one hint under the bar. It names what to fix first; when that is right, the next one appears.
- Once the bar passes its mark, hold still for about a second. Moving out of the pose starts the hold again. You can make the hold shorter or longer under Settings.
- Good light helps the app see you. Strong backlight makes it harder.
My phone keeps falling over
Any steady spot works: a shelf, a wall, a tree, a stack of books. A phone holder or a small tripod makes it easier to get the height right. Chest height and a few steps back usually looks best.
Where are my photos?
Every shoot you save is kept under Photoshoots in the app. When you close a shoot, the app asks “Do you want to save this session?” If you tap Delete there, its photos are removed for good. A photo goes to your phone’s photo library when you tap “Save to phone”. If saving fails, check in your phone’s settings that Pocket Cameraman may add photos.
Deleting photos
Deleting a photo or a whole photoshoot in the app removes it from the app for good. Photos you saved to your phone stay in your photo library. Removing the app removes everything it kept.
Background blur is missing
Background blur needs depth information recorded with the photo. Today that means an iPhone, using the front camera (the Face ID camera) or the back camera on models with LiDAR. For photos taken without depth, and on other phones, the tool does not show.
Languages
The app speaks English, Dutch, German, French and Spanish. You can change the language under Settings.
Privacy
The app collects nothing and uploads nothing. The details are on the privacy page.
